Create calculation app. for web and/or exe program for distribution

We currently have an .XLS spreadsheet (3 sheets) that calculate the parameters of a product needed based upon user input requirements. It is similar in operation to a mortgage program except that it uses electrical calculations to produce a result. The existing program works fine but the problems are: 1. We cannot run an excel program on the web site for visitors. 2. We also distribute the program on CD, but some users are changing the constants (since we cannot hide or protect them). All the logic and calculation values are there. We are thinking this can be rewritten for a web browser (in java using scripts?) and can be posted on the web site or distributed on CD ROM. The current user interface needs to be enhanced and 1 additional output feature is desired. We estimate about 10-20 hours for this project. Can work from your location once we establish specs and deliverables. There are thoughts of a phase 2 of this project in the future that would couple this output to create a CAD like drawing of installation layout, so this must be considered in this design. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. Some bidders seemed more adept at creating web pages, while some had more experience in program development. We have reviewed our requirements and decided that we will have this program developed as a standalone application ONLY (it will not be available on the web). This should simplify things somewhat (and may also reduce the total labor required). If this new goal affects your proposal, please submit a comment. We are currently developing a specification for this application and it should be available shorly. As a result of this change, we are also extending this bid until 12/05. ## Platform Windows PC
