Create Logo Graphics

I need a bitmap to be used as a title slide for my software. the name of the software is DMW-PODIS Dissimilar Metal Welds - Prediction Of Damage In Service The bitmap should be approx. 500 (w) x 400 (h) The bitmap should consist of (1) a background image (2) DMW-PODIS written using letters made out of tubes. There should be a weld running thru the middle of these letters, then top and bottom part of the letters should be in different colors. Please look at the attachment for attempts done so far.
