Audio Volume and Rec/play VU meters VB6 code via API

I am looking for VB6 code to access the windows API to control input and output volume and provide audio level meters. Need to access the left and right channels independantly. Don't want an ocx, unless provided with source. This application should be function calls for all mixer API calls. Should allow function calls similar to an OCX. Should be able to build up to a full mixer functionality. I am in the audio business and would like flexable colors of components and a high resolution bar graph VU meter. Must be able to create a Stereo Slider with additional balance pan pot control AND/OR separate Left and Right Faders for each channel. (Both inputs and outputs) We should be able to lock the left and right sliders together with a check box. We should be able to pick the device from a listbox in the sample code. We should be able to select the sample/bit rate from a listbox. VU Meters shall be BARS, pefer High resolution bars with adjustable sizing and scaling. Should allow for three colors in the bar segments. Should be able to get and set any input/output level on the fly with a function. Should be able to "hide" or remove any level control in the windows mixer... and be able to set the value of the hidden level slider. This is for pre-setting levels with no user access, even from the windows mixer. Should be able to create controls for multichannel devices also.
