Build a website to allow employees/employers connection

Background The project seeks to develop a website that is suited to a specific industry (details to be provided to interested applicants). The main aim of this website is to allow employees to connect to employers. The website will have three main functions: 1. Employee/Employer connection The website will be a portal through which employers are able to advertise when they are looking for employees to fill either a temporary or permanent shift. Also, vice versa, employees are able to browse through a list of temporary or permanent shifts and select one that meets their needs. 2. Marketplace Aside from the main objective of the website – to connect employees and employers. The website also offers a marketplace functionality. This allows all participants in the industry to connect to each other. The market place will include (but not be limited to): • buy or sell products • advertise repair and maintenance 3. News/Forum The news/forum section of the website will allow participants in the industry to discuss relevant matters and keep updated on important news and announcements. This section will allow users to create their own login. Specifications 1. Compatibility: The website will have to be compatible with both android and apple devices. The website has been designed to be very simplistic and easy to understand from a mobile device. When creating the website it will be important to ensure that mobile compatibility is accounted for. A responsive design is preferred, however further options may be assessed if they meet specific criteria. 2. Content Management System: The website will utilize a content management system that stores the content in a database and allows for easier updating. Maintenance and upkeep Once the website is designed, built and launched, it will require administration access so that its content can be regularly updated. e.g. The “marketplace” section of the website will require administrative access so that advertisements can be uploaded and controlled. Website payment functionality Certain aspects of the website will require access to a payment system so that website users are able to make payments through the website.
