Current Situation :

We have access to a backend webapplication of an ITSP, where forms are posted to HTML pages. We dont have the source of these pages so we don't know what language handles these posts on the server ( could be PHP, JSP, .NET ).

- We want to build our own custom web application in PHP and want to post to the remote backend webapplication. When the information from our own custom webapplication is sent to the remote application we dont want to see the results inside the remote application ( which normally happens when you post to a page ), but we only want to refresh our page and show the new information which is gathered from the remote application. So when a post is made it is made to a remote application but that shouldn't be visible to the user of our application. We want to fetch the new information from the remote application and show it in ours.

- The application of the ITSP is password protected, so there has to be a possibility as well to login to the remote application so that the session is open and we can post to it. Perhaps this can be done with AJAX.

So basically we want to be able to post to a remote webapplication in the background where it is not visible to the user of our application AND gather the new information from the remote application and show it in ours.
