Description: Need a VB/VBS/.NET application that will read a listing on a Web site and retrieve company and contact data from linked pages and sites. Application should save all retrieved information into a Microsoft Access database. Application should begin with list of firms generated from 'List All Firms in the USA' at [url removed, login to view] From the list of approximately 3700 firms, application should drill down to the Detail page for each firm and capture the firm information (company name, address line 1, address line 2, city, state, zip, phone, URL) to a database table. The application should then drill down to the firm URL and retrieve the full contact information for each individual, saving a record for each to a database table. (This will usually be listed under a Contact section, but each site may be different.) Contact information should include firm ID (to relate to record in firm table), first name, last name, address line 1, address line 2, city, state, zip, phone, fax, and email address. If there are multiple branches listed for the firm, contacts from the URL for each branch should be retrieved. ** NOTE: This web site may have mechanisms in place to stop requests which occur too frequently in a short period of time. It's your job to figure out how to get around this, as well. Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form, as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Application MUST compile in VB6 or within the .NET framework using the command-line compiler (VB.NET or C#). 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Microsoft Access database containing results from executing above program.
