Hello,
We are currently finding a lot of problems with our servers.
We have a database error.
Also some videos do not play. For example when accessing this download link:
you get this error message: Video not found or access denied: [login to view URL]
Also this is a message from another programmer who explains SOME of the problems below:
Hello Simon,
I found the problem. But first of all I let me tell you you a few thing about your servers.
You have clustered server setup. The site runs from one server ( wiredtree ) and files are stored on other different servers like [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] etc. This is good because single server cannot handle streaming, upload/download of large files etc. it will crash.
Now the videos are not playing because files are missing on the server 67.159.60.25. All video files were sylinked to /home/v directory which I see is not present. So I just searched for for one of the video files and i found it in /home4/v , Then I changed the symlink to /home4/v and video [login to view URL] started playing fine.
So what I concluded is that files were previously present in /home/v but they were later moved and distributed between /home2/v , /home3/v and /home4/v and some files were deleted/missing. Now none of the disk has has enough space that files of all the harddisk can be moved to a single harddisk.
I can create symlinks to video files in /home2/v & /home3/v to /home/v/ respectively but it's not practically feasible because there are thousands of files. It may take even months.
Suggested Solution: I see nginx execute the script /usr/local/nginx/perl/[login to view URL] video file download url is requested. This script converts the url to internal file path and sends the requested file to client browser. So I suggest you to contact your developer and ask him to modify the script so that it automatically search for the file /home2/v, /home3/v and /home4/v and and sent them to the client browser.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Technical part
/var/www/cgi-bin/v was symlinked to /home/v which was not present
I changed symlink /var/www/cgi-bin/v to /home4/v and some videos started playing e.g. [login to view URL]
Rest of the files are either missing or present in /home2/v , /home3/v and /home4/v
All files cannot be moved to single partition because there is not enought disk space.
Symlink can only point to one folder or file. Which currently is pointing to /home4/v
