I wish to convert 11 asp files to php files. The files involve checking logins for registered users, adding new users to a database that have successfuly paid a fee via PayPal. The most complex file is the one that serves up test items, one item at a time from an access database. The file selects all test items that meet the criteria given by the user, assigns a randomn number to each item and then serves as many items as requested either 10 or 25 items. My problem is that the webserver I run uses Apache and the operating system is Fedora 5. So to run my asp scripts I have to use a Microsoft server, so far I am able to do that for free but I would like to move asp to my server. Hence the desire to convert to php and mysql. I have tried the conversion but was unable to wrap my head around the changes required. You can see the files in action here [login to view URL] In addition to the files I may have some questions re setting up the fields in the mysql database. It is my intention to export the data from access and import it into MySQL. I have done this before on an earlier edition of Linux and MySQL but I may have some questions. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). I have included a back up of the asp portion of the site including database, images everything * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Jan 24, 2007 2:53:36 PM: The question was asked do I want you to set up the database in MySQL. Since that has to be done on my server I intend to do that but I expect you will have to set up the database on your system to test the files, that is why I included all the files. I have exported the info from access and imported it into an earlier version of MySQL using the command line and I should be able to do this again but if possible I would like to be able to ask questions if I run into trouble. If I had to ask you to do the exprt and import that would be a separate contract. TTYS John * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Feb 7, 2007 12:51:46 PM: I have imported the login and IB tables from Access into mySQL databases and tables of the same name and structure. All database, tables, and fields names are spelled exactly as in the files I provided. The databases can of course be changed to suit the new php files. I have also created a directory called "onlinequiz" where all the php files will reside. "onlinequiz" is a sub directory of the webserver root directory. The image files referenced in the IB database are stored in sub directories of "onlinequiz". Also if it would be easier to work using scripts you already have for the login, PayPal part, that is OK with me they just have to have the correct funtionality and appearance??? The same would be true of the files used to display the test items but this code is more unique but again it might be easier to start from scratch??? What I am trying to say is that I am not hung up on conversion, I just want PHP files to do the same job or better than the ones I cobbled together in ASP so they will run on my Linux server. ## Platform Linux, Fedora 5, PHP: 5.1.6 (apache2handler) MySQL: 5.0.27, Apache, all browsers
