Dear,
I need a Linux / webserver specialist ASAP.
My webserver is having problems the last three weeks. From one day to another the load average went to 200+ and the webserver crashed. Now this is happing on a daily basis on different times. The webserver didn't have any problems the last two years.
My webhost thought it was the old OS, Demon 4. They installed a new and better (vps) server for me with the latest updates and CentOS 6.2,
I migrated the website last week to the new server with directadmin (backup / restore user) and changed the DNS to the new VPS server.
I updated wordpress to the latest version, updated the Invisionpowerboard forum but the load average is still going nuts one's in a while. See pictures about “Loadaverage” info and “offline” for the times the site was offline.
I placed this project http://www.freelancer.com/projects/PHP-Script-Install/Installation-APC-Watchdog-with-good.html . But there was not a good solution.
The specialist did this:
Installed a firewall (ConfigServer Security & Firewall - csf v5.59),
Installed APC
changed Apache settings
and setup the load average script.
The problem is still occurring with the CSF firewall on or off. The custom load average script called /[login to view URL] is checking the load average. When its 5> it kills all httpd and restarts the httpd service. This works 4/5 times but [login to view URL] can’t restart httpd correctly anymore and the server need to be booted. (See screenshots restart httpd)
The specialist thinks I’m getting a (scheduled) ddossed because of the many httpd request at the times the server is getting a high load.
After the tuning there is another problem, all the users are complaining about the site that is not loaded sometimes. When you browse the site / forum every +-40 request the webpage can’t be found. This message is instantly. So when you click a link, the message comes up “Page can not be found” when you press F5 the page exists. This occurs with all the pages randomly. Even the root of the site etc.
The server is running
-directadmin
-centos 6.2
-wordpress
-invisionpowerboard
All plugins and software are up to date.
I need a specialist ASAP, that is sure about fixing the problem. Maybe there is a wrong website code or he can find more about the ddos and can fix this somehow? I really want a solution today.
Fix the high load average problem that occurs one in a while and that is crashing the webserver and fixing the “page not found” problem. And a good webserver (apache / sql etc) configuration.
Thank you,
And please have gtalk.
Regards,
Jerry
