click a link, show a confirmation form, if confirmed, process URL

I want a demonstration of a web page that has the following: 1) An html image button 2) Clicking that button shows a pop-up confirmation box that states: "Would you like to proceed with [variable passed in from link]? " 3) Clicking Yes Calls a URL that has a variable passed from the initial link. The pop-up box should then change to show "Initiated " 4) Clicking Try Again would call the same URL as Yes. 5) No or Close would close the pop-up box. The simplest solution that works on all major desktop browsers is desired. If jquery is used, we are using [login to view URL]
