Database-driven Website

We are looking to build a database-driven portal website to collect information from certain users and display this information to certain other users. There will be 2 types of users- Type A and Type B: Type A users: • Type A users will create an account with the website therefore the website will require a secure user login module • Once logged in, Type A users will be able to enter information into a form that gets saved on a backend database. Data entry into this form will be a step-by-step process involving storing text data from the user and also a provision for uploading a few small document files • The information Type A users enter in these forms will be saved on their accounts to be viewed and edited by the user at a later time • Type A users will be able to select which Type B users will have the privilege of viewing their information. They will be able to see a list of Type B users that are members on the site to decide who to share with Type B users: • Type B users will also create an account with the website • Once logged in, Type B users will be presented with a welcome page which lists which Type A users have chosen to share their information with them. The Type A users visible to the Type B user will be grouped by certain criteria to keep things organized • Type B users will be able to view all these Type A users within each group on a table and search/sort through the Type A users based on search/sort criteria that the site provides • Type B users will not be able to view information of Type A users who have not chosen to share their information with them We would like the website GUI to have a clean, simple web 2.0 look and feel, like [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] (although, of course, our functionality is completely different).
