We are a brand new non-profit organization that doesn't know much about coding or scripts, but have been told by our web guy that we need someone to write a script for what we want.
Our site focuses on dreams and we want to put a dream symbol database on the site that will be two fold: will allow only certain symbols to be seen by everyone, but most will be accessible only to subscribers who will pay a small monthly fee. In addition, we want it to be able to allow them to submit symbols to us for us to interpret for them. They will need to be able to pull up symbols several ways; either by symbol or category - most symbols will need to have the ability to appear in many categories.
Our name is "Above & Beyond" and we want a fun, simple, dynamic looking way to retrieve this info...it should go "above and beyond" their expectations. Check out the site (in early stages) at gatewaytodreams.com. The closest thing I can give as an example of a search database are the baby name sites (like [url removed, login to view]), where you can plug in multiple factors...except we will have a sign-in and a monthly subscription. We would want them to be able to choose to pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly...discounts given at each level.
That's it. We need it as soon as possible. Most of our info is already in an excel worksheet so if we can import that file, that's a bonus, but realize if we want it set up right, we may have to start over.
Thanks for your consideration...I will tell you we are all of 5 people right now and don't have a ton of money. I've been told this is a pretty easy request...not sure.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

??? Not sure...I'm guessing most computer configurations, with emphasis on Windows XP and Mac...don't really know the lingo.
