My company has an Access database that we created in-house. Our data is maintained in a back-end database on our server. The front-end is installed on each users workstation and then linked to the back-end. I would like to add a calendar similar to Outlook with at least the following functions:
1) Form to enter items either in the calendar or the task list
2) Views: Daily, Weekly, and Monthly
3) Would also like to filter the views (*Be able to view all items in the calendar and the task list or filter the data by selecting specific employees*)
4) When the calendar opens, the view should default to the current date
5) If the end user clicks on a date in the small calendars in the upper right corner, the calendar and the task list should change to that date.
6) If the end user double clicks on an item in either the calendar or the task list, a form should open up allowing the end user to edit the item
7) If the end user double clicks on an empty time slot on the calendar, a form should open that would allow the user to enter an item to be scheduled in the calendar (*The user would have the ability to change the date if needed and to enter a start time and an end time as well as details about the item*)
8) The task list should have a check box for completed items (*Once the check box is clicked, a form should open, prompting the end user for details*)
9) Data is to be maintained in a back-end database on a server running Windows 2003
10) Front-end is to be installed on the end users work station running Windows XP Pro
11) Must be in MS Access 2000 or Access 2002 (*preferred*)
12) Please see the jpeg image for an example.
13) See attached zipped file for current database and db structure (*A lot of alterations have been made to this db by well meaning employees. I hope to add several new features to this db as well as clean it up.*)
