Browser Plug-In

**The user experience:** With this plug-in activated the user will see words, names and phrases highlighted on any web page they are viewing. The highlighting is subtle as not to detract from the overall ease of reading the page. Preference is for highlighting to occur only on a roll over. Each of these highlighted words, names or phrases can be clicked on. Once clicked on they spawn a pop-up window. This new window will deliver information about the word, phrase, or name. Users will view the information and close the window. The plug-in only highlights words, names or phrases that correspond with an index that contains those words, names or phrases that have information files associated with them. This index will be added to and changed frequently. Therefore a method of maintaining an up-to-date index on a user’s computer or quickly being able to check against a master index elsewhere (hosted by us) is required. Which ever method is fastest. The index simply contains a list of these names, words and phrases and an associated URL that activates the pop-up screen and links to the information. MUST HAVE: * Allows for words, phrases that appear on a web page to be highlighted automatically or when rolled over if the word or phrase has a corresponding file in the index * Makes small window pop-up (overrides popup blocker after first OK) that displays information about the word or phrase. * Allow to be turned on/off by user LIKE TO HAVE: * Highlighting only happens during roll over. * User has options (from menu to select to highlight all or roll over) * Right Click menu lets users choose to launch the pop-up, select another version or closely related topic information, other options. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform "Windows XP, 2000, Vista, Mac OS 10+ versions "in all 3.0+ versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape. Firefox and Safari. Platforms are negotiable. Looking to run simple demo minimum Windows XP, 2000 with IE 3.0+. Please provide pricing options for inclusion of other above OS and Browsers listed above.
