I have a .mdb Application file that has different levels of security, 1st level of security is a login script with a user name and password, 2nd level is it will not open in normal mode using access full retail version of access, it will only open in run time mode. Using a KillIT function. If attemted to run in normal mode it will not open. We'll call this .mdb application (barebobes Application). Now I have another .mdb file that is called [url removed, login to view], it copies a form to the barebones application when opened. Why it’s like this: The [url removed, login to view] file is going to be for sale, with the options of upgrading adding in different forms. That is where is [url removed, login to view] file comes into play. But if the purchaser does not want to upgrade I want to keep the [url removed, login to view] file locked down with all this security. But if they do want to upgrade using the [url removed, login to view] file which copies a form from to the [url removed, login to view] file and to do this they must login with enough rights to modify the [url removed, login to view] file. And this is my problem So I need to figure a way the user that buys the [url removed, login to view] file is locked out with out even being able to open the .mdb file, but if they do want to upgrade using the [url removed, login to view] file it will copy the new form into the [url removed, login to view] file, and then return the [url removed, login to view] file back to its original locked down state prior to having opened by the [url removed, login to view] file. into the [url removed, login to view] file.
