a delphi BPL is just a DLL. My interest is in those BPL's that contain the design time "icons" (they are in fact bitmaps mostly 24x24 and stored as bitmap resources). I want a simple class that will extract the bitmaps from all the BPLs in a nominated folder and its subfolders, display them and their names (usually something like TMYSPECIALCOMPONENT) and details (dimensions, colors) in a Treeview or a listview, and save them all -or those that have been checked - as .bmp files. There is no rocket science here, just a bit of persistence, and it will help to have an understanding of the PE format and resources in general. You can start with the delphi/demos ResXplor demo which does this and a whole bunch of other stuff I don't want, or it would be cleaner perhaps to start with the Jedi/JCL TJCLPEImage (but I certainly don't want a solution that requires me to install the whole Jedi/JCL framework). Or there is an in depth approach with XN Resource Editor at <[login to view URL]> but that is D2006 and I want the code to run under D5/D6 I want all this simplified for me, and just have a class that delivers the named component bitmaps extracted from the BPLs any questions, I will be glad to answer ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Saturday Feb 11, 2006 10:56:14 AM: Thank you for bidding. I have selected a coder for this job, but I hope you will consider bidding on other Delphi jobs in the future. Also, you might like to look at my other open Delphi project "Delphi component - Folder ComboboxEx with long hints and MRU" [login to view URL] thank you ## Platform D5/D6 XP and 98 (I will do 98 testing if needed) Must be independent of third party component sets ie compile out of the box
