1) Record MPEG-4 RSTP video to a file on a Fedora 6 linux computer from an AXIS IP video camera in a format that can be streamed by Apple Darwin Streaming Server. **1. Record the video stream to a file** Using Fedora 6 and open source create a C/C++ program or BASH shell script, etc., to record MPEG-4 video at 640x480 30 fps from an AXIS IP video camera to a file on Fedora 6 Linux as a background process. foo ??"f 30 ??"s 640x480 ??"ip [login to view URL] /home/video/[login to view URL] & The code needs to record one video stream. Multiple instances of the code must be able to run simultaneously to record as many as 6 video streams, independently. The location of the file during recording should be settable using command line or just ">" to stdout. The disk drive could be local SATA attached drive or a drive on the gigabit Ethernet network. Code deliver format: Linux tar file. The recorded video file is then put in a directory to be streamed using Apple's Darwin Streaming server File also Playable in IE or FireFox html page Playable by clicking on the file in an XP directory. ## Deliverables **Record an MPEG-4 video stream from an AXIS IP video camera on a Fedora 6 Linux Server in file format that can be streamed by Apple Darwin Streaming Server. ** Basic Plan 1. Record MPEG-4 RSTP video to a file on a Linux computer from an AXIS IP video camera. > 2. Transfer file to the Darwin Streaming Directory > > 3. File plays easily for a non-technical windows XP user using quicktime player First Goal: **1. Record the stream to a file**** ** Using Fedora 6 and open source libraries (if needed) create a C/C++ program or BASH shell script (or other complete script or instructions) to record MPEG-4 video at 640x480 30 fps from an AXIS IP video camera to a file on the computer running Fedora 6 Linux as a background process. foo ??"f 30 ??"s 640x480 ??"ip [login to view URL] > /home/video/[login to view URL] & The code needs to record one video stream. Multiple instances of the code must be able to run simultaneously to record as many as 6 video streams, independently. (if a multi-stream recorder can be done in one instance that is well-threaded one then that design would also be considered.) CPU resource costs: The code should not be resource hog. Keep in mind that the Linux computer has to record as many as 6 simultaneous video streams. The computer is an Intel Core 2 DUO processor. File Location: The location of the recorded file during recording should be settable using command line options or just ">" redirection to stdout. The disk drive that is recording the file could be the local SATA attached hard drive or a hard drive on the attached gigabit Ethernet network. File Size and Stream Duration: The file size should be less than 2 gigabytes. I understand the file size is dependent on the bit rate, codec, compression and so forth. The stream duration should be about 30 minutes. A few seconds of video is not acceptable, more than 15 minutes would be good. 30 minutes would be great. Image Quality: The MPEG-4 stream should be of sufficient quality as have the user experience of “MPEG-2?? video. Video stream bit rate or type is immaterial at this time so long as a file can be captured and played back on the windows computer. The use of the following open source software is suggested if possible: * [login to view URL] ??" openRTSP Mplayer Mencoder FFmpeg Use of other open source suggestions is fine so long as the other parts to the solution can be downloaded via YUM updater. The solution should not be complex such as involving the installation of numerous open source projects that need to be compiled with complicated interdependencies that would require multiple compiles, links or recompilation of the Linux Kernel. (If it takes more than an hour for your parents to do the entire dependency install process then it is too complex.) Code delivery format would be in a Linux tar file with installation instructions in a [login to view URL] file. **2. The recorded video file is then transfered via streaming Server to a Windows XP computer.** **3. The Windows XP user then clicks and the file and it plays on the screen.** The Windows XP user can open the file and play it back in a Browser under Windows XP. 1. The recorded file must be: 1. Playable on a Windows XP using QuickTime player ??" latest XP version available from [login to view URL] download. 2. Playable via a Windows Browser, IE or FireFox html page 3. Playable by just clicking on the file name/icon in a Windows XP directory. AXIS Video Camera API: I can FTP recordings from camera if needed. I can supply links or attachments to the video camera API if needed. Funding is in place now for quick project start .............. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform record streaming video on Linux Fedora 6 playback on XP and Fedora 6 in a browser playback on XP using QuickTime player
