Creating a WWW search engine

This is not for money, I just want to hear what you have to say and if you can help me out. I'm planning to open a google-like (but waaaay much smaller) search engine that will index only MY 5000 favorite sites for my family and friends. I already created the spider and have all the files (millions of them, sorted by directory) resides locally. but I don't know which solution should I use for searching. Index Server/SQL full-text?? Can anyone give out some tips?
