We want to run a small webserver on Windows to preview html pages generated with our software. The Webserver is Xitami - [login to view URL] We need a C++ function which 1: loops though an application defined set of obscure port numbers in the dynamically generated Port range 2: checks if it can find a port which is available for the Xitami http server ([login to view URL])to connect to. 3: returns the first port found that can be used for Xitami to connect to. Also, provide a simple test harness console exe for the function which calls the above function with a set of ports (specified on the cmd line?) and then launches Xitami and connects it to the first available port found. The function must work on Windows from Windows 98 up to XP as otherwise it will not be useful to us.
