Adding Codec in Conversion Tool

I need to add support to the FFmpeg video conversion tool to decode QCELP which is the audio codec used in 3GP2 files. FFmpeg doesn’t support it yet (See [login to view URL]) I believe that you don’t need to understand the QCELP codec itself in order to implement this project, because a reference implementation exists. Therefore, the project is really to integrate the reference implementation into FFmpeg. Here’s a posting from someone who did just this. But it might prove useful for you as well: [login to view URL] You will need to use FFmpeg revision 7987. The ideal solution will include files and instructions that will allow us to add them to future versions of FFmpeg as well (i.e., don’t modify FFmpeg directly). The solution will eventually need to work on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 64-bit version. If you don’t have this version available then can also accept solutions that are compiled on CentOS or other close clones, and I can also accept 32-bit versions. Success on this project will only be determined by testing for correct behavior on Linux machines, although if implemented properly, should also work on Windows XP. I attach an example 3GP2 file (in which included QCELP encoded audio) ## Deliverables Complete and fully-functional working FFmpeg with the new functionality added as specified including: 1. The complete source code of all work done 2. An executable suitable for running on Red Hat Linux or close clones (preferably 64-bit.)
