We are revising for retail re-introduction an early '90s Kid's email client. We'd like some assistance with specific modules. This RFP is for one of the modules. Our program is called KidMail (also "Email for Kids"). Please see [login to view URL] We have ported most of the code to VC++ v7 and we are making various improvements and adjustments to the application. It will be integrated with a spam-free POP3 mail service. KidMail was written as a Windows 95 application. It has a robust, custom user interface, with numerous professionally rendered animations. However this program pre-dated commercial popularity of the Internet, and did not support rich text editing or display of HTML messages. We would like to commission the development of an ActiveX control implementing a "Kid's Word Processor". -----------IMPORTANT-------------- ***Please see the attached text file describing the requirements and payment terms in much more detail. *** -----------IMPORTANT-------------- Additional comments: If you are seriously interested in this RFP, please send a detailed response referencing similar apps development work that you or your organization has done, your availability, and a projected timeline. Please define specific milestones.
## Deliverables

## Platform
Windows 95/98/NT/200/XP/ME
## Deadline information
Payment terms: We will advance up to $200 at the 1st milestone, so that you can be confident that we are perfectly serious, and working in good faith. The remainder of the payment is of course contingent on your project success, and will be paid (along with a discretionary bonus based upon our level of satisfaction) after we have received first revenue from a retail publisher. This may take 3-4 extra months. Please note that we are a small team of experienced software industry guys (most of whom are ex-Microsoft employees) and we are bootstrapping this venture by volunteering our time and a limited amount of capital. In the mid '90s before home email use was common, we sold over 50,000 copies of this software. We are 99% sure that we will secure an initial 10,000+ unit distribution contract, but there is 1% uncertainty nevertheless that we won't. If that becomes the case, we will pay no more than $300 altogether for your work. If you accept this RFP you accept this risk!
