Discount Feature on shopping site

We operate a small dynamic ecommerce site written in ASP, which accesses data from an Access 2000 database. The original code was modified by our Web designer who now has trouble implementing additional features. We use an Administration area to Add/Modify/Update products, view orders, view/edit customer and reseller lists, etc... We would like to add a discount feature to allow us to create various "Promo Codes" which calculate a discount as either a pre-determined dollar value, free freight on orders above $[login to view URL], percentage discount & quantity discount (6 or more price) on any individual item or entire order. Whatever Promo Codes we create would be entered by a visitor on the "Payment Method" screen and subsequently shown as a "discount" field on the Submit Order and Thank You page as well as in the Order Confirmation email sent after a visitor places an order.
