Hey Guys,
Bit of a weird one, but we're having problems with our NAS disconnecting itself and turning itself off after 30 minutes of inactivity. I've disabled all power saving functions on it but same problem.
So my solution, lets create an Apple Script or something similar, that will write a 100kb file or something similar to the drive every 3 minutes. That should 'fake' it into thinking that it's constantly in use and therefore should not shut down.
Could do with it done asap, so bid away.

I can write that applescript for you.
Heck if you googled it enough you could probably write it yourself.
The script would live on the NAS in a folder but would be a login item on the MAC.
It would poll every 20 mins say and then write a field to the desktop (or some place out the way if you prefer) on the mac then delete it or write a file to the NAS itself.
Whether it will keep your NAS alive is another matter. I'm not really sure.
Let me know if you need me to write it.
