Hi there,
We have loads of big BIG text files (50MB-1GB with 100,000+ lines).
We want a Windows script/program or .NET code snippet to chop the first and last line out of them IF they match the following format.
(note: GNU utils ported to windows CAN be used)
Top line eg:
ACTIVITY|6|13-JUL-2007 22:10:00
Botton line eg:
ACTIVITY|6|13-JUL-2007 22:11:00|122
So, an example of use would be:
[login to view URL] file=c:my [login to view URL] saveas=c:my [login to view URL]
The top and bottom lines are removed only if they match the format shown above. The file is saved under the same name if no "saveas" paramter is there.
You does NOT have to work EXACTLY like this, so suggestions welcome!
We think this is a TINY job for someone who's done it before, so don't we'd ideally like to pay $30-$40.
Thanks, and good luck!
Tobin
