In general we need optimization of the server to run with wordpress mu smoothly. However, now we face a specific error (see below) that has caused our error loq to be more than 1GB - all caused by the same error. Here is the: [Thu May 08 22:49:04 2014] [error] [client [login to view URL]] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php/modules/[login to view URL]' - /usr/lib64/php/modules/[login to view URL]: undefined symbol: php_pcre_exec in Unknown on line 0, referer: [login to view URL] It happens with every single hit on the server I assume. As a result (I believe this is the problem) our writers get a 504 error every time they are trying to publish or update a post on our wordpress install. Everything else on the Wp dashboard seems to work fine. Also note that our CPU usage is over the roof with crazy spikes. After searching in forums I found a few solutions for the error [login to view URL] ( I tried this on the terminal but yum gives errors) tried this too but no results [login to view URL] [login to view URL] (possible error) other useful links [login to view URL] (but I believe we do not have nginx) After we solve this we want to update plesk and install nginx to make the site faster. The server host told us that Yum is broken on our server and we might need to revert to default settings and then reinstall from a server backup. Sorry for the long description...just wanted to tell you as much I know so hopefully you can give me a more accurate estimate. FYI Mysql uses MyISAM tables. I can be verified for example by VAT EU number. I could not tell exact source of your issues but those kind of errors should not happen on production system and I can expect a lot of mess on your system. Best solution for this case would be to migrate your service to a temporary server (I have my own infrastructure which could be used for that) and start from clean VPS. Hello, so I'm doing that for quite some time now (check my profile) and based on your description it shouldn't be a problem to solve the library issue you're facing. Btw: It's generated on every hit because the php process is hitting the problem over and over again. Installing the right lib shouldn't be a problem and solve this issue. Installing nginx and php-fpm as the backend isn't a problem either. With some tuning we should be able to make it faster. It's some runtime tuning that has to be done over two or three days on the working environment. It's a simple "try and error" setup by checking how/when/why/where the ressources are used and then modifying the available options like php processes (after the nginx install php will become its own process and not be part of the webserver anymore), used memory, respawning and so on. Nothing I haven't seen or done before. The broken yum thing should be solvable... Might take some time but should be doable. Imho it's inacceptable to reset to 0 and then work with a backup. The only problem I see is that I'm not in the LA area =) But there is skype, facetime, viper, $younameit so we can talk if necessary :) Ah and of course I'm the best/most experienced/übergeek admin you can get over here ;) If you have questions feel free to contact me :) KR, Oliver
