Classical Music Now

Classical Music Now (CMN), is music project that works with underprivileged children in Hyderabad, south India. Our goal is to create the first Indian youth symphony orchestra. CMN is an academy that serves as the center of transformation for students as they develop into serious musicians, learning discipline and personal leadership alongside a passion for classical music. We are looking for accomplished musicians who are willing to volunteer and also share a similar passion for education in classical music. At the moment, we are looking for three volunteer string teachers for violin, cello and double bass to come teach in Hyderabad. The basic expectations are as follows: - Strong enthusiasm for empowering and exposing Indian children to classical music - 1 year commitment, starting in August - Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Music Performance from a European/US institution - Video recording - English Fluency - Proficient understanding of music theory and history - Performance experience - Willingness to weather and appreciate the challenges of working in a different culture Here a few things the intern can expect to gain from working with us: The chance to gain insight into the running of a dynamic music project, creating unique social-change through music. A personal development plan for improving their music performance and regular support to help them in their role at CMN The opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills on a specific project.
