Android ICS Mods - Contact/dialler number formatting and remove Chinese region being displayed

Basically, I have a Chinese dual SIM Android phone running Android ICS. Phone has been rooted, Google apps installed, Chinese apps removed and is running pretty well however there are two 'bugs' that are beyond my skills to try and fix. #1 Android likes to put hyphens (Android 2.3) or spaces (Android ICS) in contact numbers both when viewing contacts and dialling. For example 0223654125 might be displayed 022 365 4125. I would like to remove all formatting so that number are displayed as they are saved... with no spaces. #2 This MTK 6575 chipset based phone displays Chinese city names in the dialler and call log when the contact is not on your phone. It seems it looks at the number and trys to link that to a Chinese area code etc. to display the region. However, as I do not live in China this is quite annoying. Both of these bugs are seemingly generic to MTK based Chinese phones running Android ICS so once someone figures out how to fix them the skill could be useful for many other models. I'm happy with the phone but would love these bugs sorted and have friends keen on the phone also if the bugs can be sorted. I had a ROM cooker do something similar for my last Android 2.3 phone however they are not familiar with ICS so need to find someone else to help.
