I need a Daemon or script that run on CentOS background all the time. This script responsible to do the following: - When this script is installed on the computer first time, it stores the unique numbers of different computer peripherals such as Processor ID, HDD, etc. - Then, all the time it checks if this number is match with current unique numbers of different computer peripherals. If Not matching, it means the HDD has been clone or moved to a different machine so it delete a specific folders that I give to it and also shut down all services and show a script telling the user to “contact the administrator’ or it show a lock image all the time. The aim of this script is to fight my HDD cloning.

Hi, I'm well skilled Red Hat engineer so writing such scripts (bash/perl/python)/application (c++) is not aproblem. I will do it fast and at good price. I have experience with RedHat and CentOS servers.

Hello, This solution will only work if the OS is booted from the cloned drive, if it's attached as a secondary/not booting the OS from it it won't work, also I thought I few solutions how this could be done but the're all easily defeated with the drive copy. We can chat more about it, but I don't think this is what you'll want. If it's written in C instead of shell it would make it a bit harder to tamper with but still will only work if OS is booted from it, and can be disabled if the drive is first plugged as secondary and solution could be disabled before booting it the first time.

Greetings from Malaysia! I would like to suggest a few things: 1. Do a check for the hardware serial numbers and such 2. Combine all the serials into one single string and get md5 sum and check with initial md5 sum during install 3. If not match, shutdown with your error message and optionally email your client about the incident(and cc you) Thanks for your time and considerations. Regards, Arstan
