Create Linux Scripts that Backup Directories

Action Items:

Creating a shell script called [url removed, login to view] that backs up each user’s home directory into individual compressed tar files. Each backup file should have the following file name format:

<username>.<yyyymmdd>.[url removed, login to view] example: [url removed, login to view]

Add a crontab entry that runs [url removed, login to view] at 1:30 a.m. on Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday, and Sunday. Also ensure that this backup script runs at 1:30 a.m. on the 1st day of every month.

Please create a monitoring script called [url removed, login to view] that will generate a file that lists the following information for each mounted partition on the filesystem:

Partition Mount Point Used Disk Space Total Disk Space % Used

The filename format should be as follows: diskusagereport.<yyyymmdd>.log

and placed in the following directory: /usr/local/nsu/logs/

Add a crontab entry that runs [url removed, login to view] every day of the month at 6 a.m. (your local time).
