I run a virtual machine software on my home machine and use a bridge for the networking to the NIC on my machine. From your diagram a bridge can be created onto each interface for each pair of VMs, but you will have to connect the NICs to the same switch for all 4 VMs to be able to talk to each other. I know how to do the bridge commands from the command line, so should have no problem setting them up.
