We want to launch a turn-based strategic game which is similar to the original version of Battle Isle by BlueByte from 1991.
Similar to the original version of Battle Isle it:
* is played on a hexagonal grid of a map
* is turn-based - i.e. one player (or computer) prepares moves, while the other player (or computer) issues attack orders
* must provide computer AI to intelligently control one side
* must provide intermediate scenery for attacks
* players control combat units (ranging from infantry and tanks to helicopters, fighters and bombers, surface warships and submarines, stationary gun turrets), support units (construction vehicles) and buildings (to repair/produce units)
* combat units have different abilities (e.g. terrain they can enter, distance they can travel on different terrain, different weapons & weapons distances)
* units gain experience
* fog of war is prevalent
In contrast to the original game it must:
* run on any (non jailbreaked) android platform >= 4.0 (mobile devices and tablets)
* run in multiplayer mode (1 vs. 1) via wifi-direct, nfc or bluetooth
* have totally different look&feel:
** does not run in split-screen mode, but show a freely zoom-able view of the map
** must have different graphics both for the map hexagons and units (which will be provided by us)
** must have different sounds & background music (which will be provided by us)
** does not provide videos on level completion, but pictures (which will be provided by us)
Since we are a software development company, we want to extend the software in the future. It therefore
* must be written in high quality & documented (javadoc) code, according to our naming- and coding-conventions
* has to be based solely on high quality, open source libraries and frameworks (if necessary)
* must be provided as a compile-able maven project using m2eclipse in eclipse
* must provide default graphics / sounds / music, so we can exchange them later
* will be tested thoroughly before acceptance
