Design ideas for small mobile display

Hello Graphics Designers, I am working on the software design for an industrial product. The device has a small LCD display (320 x 240) and limited graphic capabilities. It is similar to an older cell phone screen, very basic with text and a black background. I would like help from a graphics designer that can suggest alternatives on fonts, colors, and layout to make the screens look more attractive and user friendly The first draft screens have already been created, so I need the graphics designer to create 5 - 10 possible alternatives that would be more attractive. I have included 2 typical samples, you will see that they are very basic layouts. There are about 40 screens in the document. We will only test the design ideas on 2 - 3 of them I will look at the portfolio of the bidders to select a designer that seems to have the ability to do nice work with small screens.
