Want to make a cookbook
I have 52 Recipes. Should be divided into 6 Chapters. Have digital photos of all, but some maybe be dark or too bright, so individual photo editing may be required. Can type them up, but would like you to come up with the format for each page, which will probably be the same throughout.
Needs front and back covers, and on the inside of the front cover to say Food Is Love, maybe on a picture of daisies? Needs Title Page, Table of Contents, Chapter Title Pages, and on the inside of the back cover my dedication.
I would like the book to be colorful, if we can add where they fit pictures of flowers, and maybe some zen quotes here and there, I think that would be just wonderful!
Am looking for a designer who would like to take this on. I am not too picky and prefer for you to have whatever creative freedom you desire. I've done some research so I am not completely ignorant to the figures involved. I am not just looking for the cheapest designer, but a talented one as well. I would also like to know, once I send you the text and photos, about how long till we send to print?

We have our own family recipes compiled in to an illustrated book that we created in memory of my father. He was the big cook in the family, never wrote the recipes down, I compiled all. Sounds like your project is going to take some skill with the design and layout. I have designed and built 100s of books in my may years of book design and production. Along with working with many genre in the book field, I spent about 4 years working with Oxmoor House designing and paging many books for Mr. Food, Southern Living, Cooking Light, etc. I have also designed and laided out personal cookbooks.
From the sounds of your description, I would have most of the material I need to design the layout except for the flower images and quotes your are suggesting. I have extensive experience with image manipulations so I am capable of cleaning up most of your bad images. The quotes we can discuss and determine a source to pull them from.
I want to realistic in stating a time frame to complete your project, but that is very hard to do. It will mainly depend on your interaction with me, what you are specifically looking for and as you say, how picky you can be. I have done simple plain text books in a few days and completed very complicated college books and cookbooks in months. We will have to discuss the project more to get a better feel for the time frame. I have stated 30 days in this bid.
We will also have to discuss costs to more detail once I know what materials I have to work with and what needs to be collected.

You must know, to make quality book Photoshop will not be enough. I’ll recommend Indesign.
