The project requires advanced mathematics. You could derive symbolically equations using Mupad (preferable). The following changes on the attached pdf are required:

- All equations should be converted to double sided Fourier complex exponential (I have this part partially done)

- Instead of using Hankel function of second kind (Use Bessel function of first kind) (I have this part partially done)

- Instead of using Chebyshev in eq 35 and 36 (Use Jacobi) <==this step is important

- Update appendix A and B with the previous changes

This is a seed and screening project...there are other projects related to this one

I am attaching my Eqs-Predicting_the_crack_opening_displacements.pdf with double sided complex exponential Fourier and with Bessel first kind replacing Hankel 2nd kind. I re-did up to eq 21.

Here are specific steps to be done:
1) You would use my equations in "Eqs-Predicting_crack_opening_displacements.pdf" to replace the equations in " Predicting the crack opening displacements of .. .pdf"
2) You would derive a new replacement equations for equations 27 to 30 and for 35 to 39 using my Fourier complex exponential.
3) You would obtain much more simple equations using Fourier complex exponential
4) Create a Matlab code and verify your results versus current " Predicting the crack opening displacements of .. .pdf"
5) Replace Chebyshev with Jacobi polynomial as in the attached "Elastic wave scattering... pdf". Chebyshev should be a special case of Jacobi
6) Add to your Matlab code and verify your results versus "Elastic wave scattering... pdf"
