Prepare configuration to allow a IP network attached device to be transparently routed to an alternate destination. The device, the network and the host systems must not be modified in any way. A router can be installed between the device and the network. The router should be capable of remote monitoring. Preference will be given to modifications to existing open distributions and the resulting configuration. After successful use, we may choose to publish the configuration. Propose an operating system, router brand and model (confirming extended product life). A configuration only solution is strongly preferred. The delivery requires a sample instance, development stack to reproduce the sample from original source and operating instructions.

Also, by using some models of Mikrotik device, we have a choice to implement failover in case of hardware failure (device can use electrical realy to switch the circuit always on if case of hardware failure). This device will enable you to: preform a QoS service, deep packet inspection, intercept traffic (remote delivery of specified ACL traffic in PCAP format to network destination), monitor the bandwidth via graphs and ipflow for example. I can configure that device for you. I could also show you how to manage this device programmatically via API or SNMP through network (in order to start some actions on it).
