Hi, I can make this idea of creating a radar system based on arduino into a prototype. Servo motor rotating a pole where 3 ultrasonic sensors are attahced is a good approach. 2 ultrasonic sensors acting as pre-processor to determine the distance and position of the object, and the last one as the radar's 'ping' indicator. If you could further discuss about the environment which this radar will work on then I can contribute to the idea and drill down the final requirements for the hardware and software. The price I indicated here is a ballpark estimate and to be discussed further.

The first thing we will need is to design the whole housing. We need to make mounting brackets for the servo, the Arduino, the 3 ultrasonic sensors and for the power regulation. After that, we need to connect all the sensors to the Arduino, process the data and relay the data back to the computer throughout a serial cable. We may also need to include a temperature sensor, because the sensor gives different readings at different temperatures and we need to normalize the information we get - it's a consequence of the propagation of the sound wave at different temperatures in a medium. Next, we need a program for the terminal (computer) in order to make a live radar plotter. We may also need to include a module (in the program) for the port selection. Finally, I will describe and present every part of this project to you over Skype and give you all the necessities. The components we will use in the project are: 1. 1x Arduino 2. 3x ultrasonic sensor + 3x mounting bracket 3. 1x standard servo + mounting bracket 4. 1x DC-DC power converter (we need this in order to convert the external power source to something usable -> 5V) 5. Screws (only if the design requires them) 6. Housing (made out of plastic) 7. Miscellaneous (cables, power jack, etc) The technologies / software we will use are: 1. C/C++ -> Arduino IDE 2. Python -> For plotting the data 3. SolidWorks -> For designing the product 4. Laser / CNC cutting services I'm waiting to get in contact with you ASAP, Robert
