converting my footage from canon 5d mark3 to apple pro ress 422

the problem: is that the gamma recorded from the canon 5d mark3 is 1.22 and when I drop the footage to compressor or MPEG immediately changes the gamma to 1.8 or 2.2 before even processing so the video blacks become super black loosing details and colors looking muddy as well , is there any way you can help me to convert the videos taken with 5d mark 3 and the keep the same color and gamma values so I can edit the job in FCP 7?
