Hello... I can do it in windows with direct show. If your windows recognize the camera, then it is possible to create a direct show graph to capture the uncompressed frames. There is a way to pass the uncompressed frames to a fixed direct show filter which can delivery the frame to your backend code. After that direct show filter, we can compress the frame with any compressor you want, and save into a file on the fly. It would be my approach. I have been working with direct show during years, so, I know how to do it. Just let me know if windows recognize your capturer properly. I have 22 years working in c++ with master and PhD in graphics computing.
Best regards!.
