Create C# code to create CDX (IDX) indices for DBF files

Here is the spec for CDX: [login to view URL](v=vs.80).aspx I use DBF free tables with Advantage Database Server, which has ways to reindex these tables. I know I can call the ACE32 API to do the reindex (or call a system stored procedure with SQL to do it) but want to do it completely in managed code. It seems relatively straight forward but don't quite know where to start. For a lower fee, I would accept pointers on doing it myself, or source code in c++ or Clipper or CA-Visual Objects that you might find somewhere.

Hello! I have some pieces of code you need. - VFP DBF reader (with memo, nulls, varlength fields and DBC metadata support) - Compact index reader (compound and non-compound supported) But you also need more complex part to complete the project - VFP expression parser and evaluator for index expressions and filters (FOR clause in INDEX command) And after that you'll be able to implement index writer So I'm not sure that it's a good idea to write some kind of VFP runtime in C# to reindex your tables. You'd better use VFP OLEDB provider for this task. Best regards. Roma
