We would like a component developed in Android Java API levels 8 through 18

We should be able to add the component to a number of our existing activities.

The component is a list of letters that should appear on the far right side of the screen. It should fill the screen height on any sized phone. The component background must be transparent.

The component must contain : # A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z; in a vertical orientation.

Each of the letters must be clickable. When clicked, the activities' main scrollview should scroll to the first item in the list starting with the selected letter.

The selected letter should be highlighted by changing colour (eg gray when not selected, light blue when selected).

If the scrollview is manually scrolled, the highlighted letter must also change to reflect the first letter of the first component that is visible on-screen.

If a letter is selected and no items in the list match the selection, the scrollview should scroll to the previous letter. For example, if the user selects 'C' and the list contains "Airplane" and "Diary", the scrollview should scroll to 'Airplane'

To demonstrate your component:

Prepare an activity with a ScrollView containing a vertical LinearLayout.

Create an array of 50 randomly generated strings (random sequences of letters and numbers, for example ABAFDSIFEWJ, FJSFIJJFW...)

Sort the array alphabetically

Display the array by creating one TextView for each item, set the textview text to each string value, and add each textview to the linearlayout.

Your activity should now have a scrollable list of all 50 random strings, sorted alphabetically, numbers and symbols first.

Your activity should also have the alphabetical scroll bar described in this post. The scrollbar should work as described above.

"Terms of payment" Upon awarding the job, a milestone will be created for the "entire" amount owed. Freelancer will hold this money, but none of the milestone will be released until the job is 100% complete. Do not ask for any milestone payments until all the work is 100% finalized. Its important to note, that since Freelancer will hold ALL the funds, you have NO risk of not getting paid as long as the job is done properly and in a timely manner.

If this project takes more than 2 days, we need code updates every 2nd day. So on day 2, you send us whatever work you have done, whether complete or not. We just need to see that you have advanced and are dedicated to the work, not just 2 lines of code that signify nothing. In other words we need to make sure that whoever is doing the work, in fact is doing the work.

This is a straight forward project for a programmer that "knows" how to code in Android Java.
