1) It must be able to connect to an MySQL DB to upload/download contact details
2) It will store the contacts (in individual files or own db) for the address book to read.
3) When synching with the Mysql db it will determine if any updates have been made and then update the mysql if needed, prompting for overwrite
4) Function to add different fields etc
5) Search function
6) can choose various ways of displaying the data
Example: will list only name and phone number field for all contacts or just name and email etc
6) Able to print these lists.

Q: You mention about syncing with MySQL. Is this a one-way or two-way sync? I mean, will the MySQL data be updated from any place apart from the program?
Also, would it always be one installation syncing with the database or multiple installations from different machines? In short, will this program be used by one person at a time or many at a time.
A: 2 Way sync is needed
The program will be run from multiple locations and may in the future be part of a website that will alow editing aswell
Q: How do you mean different fields? Do you want to specify that these will be the fields available to the users OR the user can always enter a new field while entering the contact data?
A: The data from users will always be the same format, so if a field is added for any reason on one, when it syncs with the db the database will add in the extra field(s) to the table inserting a null entry for any that do not have values
**Note: If is there is an easier way of going about this part that allows flexibilty, i am open to suggestions.
Q: Is the MySQL database you mentioned ready and structured or that is also to be designed?
A: There is a DB in place at the moment, but will probably be undergoing some changes.
