Clone and adapt existing site

We had a simple site built for us a few months ago. We now want to use the same structure (templated layout, simple CMS) to make two new sites. However, we want to iron out an issue with the database and also find a way to re-write URLs so that they are more user and search engine friendly.

In more detail: Our current site is [[url removed, login to view]][1] - we want to create two new sites which will cover new topic areas, based on this site.

We are currently able to add categories and add pages to those categories. On the pages we can write tags, add headlines etc, write copy and uplioad images. New pages are added to the navigation automatically. We are also able to write redirect pages for links as we need them. The current CMS can be made available to suitable bidders.

However, we suspect that the database is not sturcutred in such as way as to enable us to Mod Rewrite URLs. So instead of a URL like <[url removed, login to view]> we have URL's like this - <[url removed, login to view]>, where the 7 appears to relate to the database entry. It may not be a Mod Rewrite issue, but we certainly aren't getting the URL structures that we need.

So we want to keep the template sturcture (although we'll want to tweak the colour palette) and the CMS functionality, but we need the system to re-write URLs so that they don't have clumsy endings. We are not updating the existing site, but we do want to learn the lessons and apply them to the new sites.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

All web platforms.

We expect any company wanting to pitch for this business to demonstrate that they have understood our issue noted above and for them to outline how they would address it on the new sites. We expect to be able to reuse (clone) a lot of the coding from the existing site but understand that reworking the database (if that is what's needed) will take a little time.

Please do not submit if you are not prepared to provide an outline reply in the form noted above.
