Create a game for a mobile device using ActionScript 3.0 for an Air for Android touch screen app.

running either at 800x480 or 480x800

The application should be able to run in the emulator. Only functionality which is capable of being demonstrated in the emulator should be included. All functionality in the app should be capable of running via keyboard and via tablet

You may only use FLASH version CS6 or CC. No other software is acceptable and will not be marked.

In this game, the user has control of a gun emplacement which can move up and down the left hand side of the screen using buttons and arrow keys. Pressing a shooter button (or key) will fire a bullet horizontally across the screen from left to right. An alien craft randomly moves up and down the screen, and occasionally fires at the user's gun emplacement. If it is hit, the player loses a life (he has three at the start of the game). (Please note the gun emplacement MUST be on the left side of the screen or the assignment will not be marked).

The player should fire back to counter any bullets fired at him, and to try to shoot down the alien craft. As the game develops, more alien craft appear (but there are never more than three on the screen at once). The alien craft should have different designs, and should move independently of each other. Some should be capable of some horizontal movement so that they can get nearer to the right hand side as they move around.

When a craft is shot down the user's score increases, and different types of craft should have different numbers of points associated with them, and be more or less difficult to shoot down.

The game should only end when the player loses all his lives. You may award additional lives to the player depending on his progress (e.g. if his score reaches a certain amount, or if he shoots down a certain type of craft).

You should also ensure that the game gets progressively harder, so that no matter how good you are, the game will end at some point.

Images and sounds for this project may be taken from the Internet or other sources, but all sources must be properly credited.

The game must feature a high-score table, and on-screen instructions, and you must be able to save the high-score table to the phone.

Notes

The code that you write must be based on the code and techniques from the workshops. You may not base your game on Internet sources or other tutorials.
