Requirement

Functionality

The GPSDevice plugin is a functional unit of software that is loaded at runtime into the Cordova framework for the purpose of determining the host platform location using the raw GPS data streams returned from the onboard GPS. This plugin will allow for experimenting with different methods to determine the host location by parsing the output from a GPS and making this data available to the company's app.

NMEA String Processing

The plugin will parse NMEA 0183 strings directly from the onboard GPS of the host platform. The plugin must be able to parse the GGA, GSA, and GSV NMEA sentences generated by the GPS.

Data Logging

The parsed NEMA output of the GPS will be used for decision making, therefore it is important to keep ASCII text based logs on the host platform for debugging.
