Create a script that reads through a number of directories and subdirectories and gets a file and processes it through a model that is already using attachment_fu. The script will copy the current image to a folder and create 3 thumbnail sized photos based on the model's specifications. This works in the existing Rails app, but now I need to bulk process images.
The script should read the original file directory and subdirectories and copy the image to a new directory using the original attachment_fu directory structure. This is extremely important because we are replacing files on a server and must keep the same naming conventions. For example:
-ORG_DIR (to read from)
--0001
----1234
----5678
--0002
----1234
----5678
-NEW DIR (start with empty NEW_DIR and create all subdirectories following ORG_DIR structure)
--0001
----1234
----5678
--0002
----1234
----5678
## Deliverables
This must be a full functioning script that I expect to be able to run from a command line using either ruby <script_name>.rb or by running a rake task. I can send the model information to the programmer so that he or she can view the settings since the script must resize the images as listed in the model.
Previous attempts have been made to use ImageScience without attachment_fu, but those images are not sized correctly. So the script must resize images using attachment_fu which in turn uses ImageScience as the processor.
This should be fairly simple for most Ruby on Rails programmers.
