Hi, I would like to set up a render farm for adobe after effects projects. I would like to use amazon aws. I just need to be able to create my after effects projects and have them rendered on ec2. I want the farm to be scalable so we don't waste money when we are not rendering. I would like the files to be stored on amazon s3. They need to be available to be uploaded to youtube or vimeo or other video streaming sites from amazon s3. This is for in house production so there will be no sale of service to anyone. Hi, I just finished similar solution using python API for EC2. What it was: - automatic request to allocate number of spot instances, - automatic termination of spot instances (clean up), - inside of an instance -- auto configuration script (my client allocated from 20 to 40 windows machines at a time and they all need to have unique identity in MS network), - application wise -- auto connection of new instances to the main render manager (central server). I'm an experienced system administrator and have experience maintaining infrastructure on AWS. I have no experience with after effect but doing quick search the render software is available on windows so we need to create windows rendering farm I guess. I can help with initial setup and writing automation script and management script. We can specify when the farm will be on / off or I can write script to turn on and off the script as you need. Is it possible to discuss more details about this first?
