I need to play a notification sound (.mp3) in an HTML5 web app. It works on all OS, just not on iOS. Every minute, a script checks if there is a new message. If there is a new message the script plays a sound, using <audio> tag. The sound must be played when file is loaded with ajax. Examples of solutions below. The problem is, after a page load the user must click again before iOS allows the sound to be played. Who can make this work on iPhone/iPad?
