At 15, I began reading English literature that wasn’t on the school’s curriculum. I first became familiar with translation while still working in logistics, translating procedures from English and French, technical manuals from English, French and Italian to Dutch and English, and adapting them to the target audiences (customers, contractors, drivers). Most of my working day was spent talking English as I dealt with the UK and the Nordic countries. In my spare time I trained as a first aid provider. After having quit the job in logistics, I took bachelor courses in work and social psychology. My educational background is a four-year degree in electrical engineering and therefore technical translations are my main focus - but I am also very interested in art, archaeology, natural sciences, history and outdoor sports. less
