Contest Brief

I'm the founder of Global Voices, an online language learning startup based in Taipei. I'm looking for a logo that best represents our brand's values of worldliness, connection and creative expression. This logo will be used for the first time on a new Youtube talk show that is being launched next month. I already have a fairly good idea of what I'm after - using the capital G and V to embody a globe and sound waves. I have added a png file here with the basic prototype. I'm looking for someone to take it to the next level. Specifically with three things:

1. The G - rather than have a globe stand that could be 'seen as' a G, I'd like the globe to actually be balanced between the open ends of a capital G.
2. The V - the sound waves coming out of the V (hence, 'voice') need to look a lot sharper and with cleaner lines. The challenge here will be to make something that doesn't just look like a Wifi-symbol, but actually gets the idea of soundwaves across.
3. Color scheme - I'd like the text to be black and the globe and soundwaves one color, that is blue and green, though I'm open to what kind of blues or greens, as long as they blend well together.
4. The globe - when it comes to the globe itself I'd rather one where it isn't obvious which continent is facing us, (for example, North/South America). This helps enforce the 'one world' idea more strongly than certain corners being front and center. Perhaps a turning or spinning effect may be used here? I'd be happy to see some creative solutions for this one.

The above are outlines. If you feel you can sense a much better design than the one I've provided, by all means give it a shot. I'm about 80 % sure that this is what I'm looking for, but am still open to something that is obviously better.

Employer Feedback

“Baba is quick and does the job properly. He can adjust things just the way you need them to be done, which is great. He responds quickly and is hardworking to achieve the result you want. I would highly recommend him. I would only say that he is perhaps a little too concerned about the client not paying, which is only natural but it can put a little pressure on the client to rush things. So I would recommend he try to relax and trust the client more.”
