Contest Brief

Redesign of a trump-card style playing card for a Kickstarter campaign (and ultimately to use in the finished product).

The brief:
- Design for face cards (3 design variants, although from the same basic template, with different text and background colours).
- Design for three card backs (again, three variants of the same logo/design.

Constraints:
- Must fit a 62x100mm trump card design format (see attached template for area to fit).
- Must be in .PSD format (for adjustments and text changes etc.)
- Must include the exact same wording as on the example cards.
- Must include the same basic colours for the card faces (green, yellow, grey), although shade/pattern and anything else can be adjusted as much as desired.
- Must be legible.
- Doesn't need to include illustrations of the animals or weapons (these are already being supplied by a different artist), unless they can be improved upon within budget
- Must all be original works and not include any copyright-breaching images or textures

Detailed breakdown
- Faces
- Animal card has green background
- Weapon card has yellow background
- Terrain card has grey background
- Backs
- All backs to bear main logo (cat under crossed machine guns with mushroom cloud with name (Animals with Weapons) and strapline ("You have the right to bears... Armed") around it.
- Animals back has "Animals written in lower-left corner
- Weapons back has "Weapons" written in lower-right corner
- Main "cover" design as above, but with both "Animals" and "Weapons" at the bottom, with "with" inserted in between.
- All three variations need to be easily distinguished from one another
- Photoshop preferred to illustration for card backs (licensed images only, obviously)

Although the initial commission is for designs for me to use, there is the potential that the whole larger job could end up being sourced to the competition winner (132 cards, instructions and packaging), depending on the success of the Kickstarter project.

Hi! I liked your game's idea, it is rather interesting but you had set a really low price for the contest. If you want to get more professional and eye-catching design for your cards, then this demands some efforts and creative approach from the artists. To my mind, if you increased the price at least twice, you could attract many entries. Best regards!

Hi. Can you tell me what you would consider reasonable for this work? There are only 2 main designs (supplied), with 3 variants of the 2 designs (6 total, also supplied). I understand that this is a few images to work on, but it is largely a job of alteration rather than complete re-imagination (unless somebody wishes to do this). I am certainly happy to consider reasonable suggestions though.
